# Installation

## Copy the resource

Copy `ld_tablet` into your `resources` folder.

## Register the item

Register the item so your inventory system knows about it. `ld_tablet` does **not** create item definitions for you—it only binds "use" behaviour to whatever item name you configure.

* **QBCore / QBX (Qbox)**: add an entry to your shared items table.
* **ox\_inventory**: add an entry to `data/items.lua`.
* **ESX**: add the item via your items table / `ox_inventory`.

## Add the resource to your server configuration

Add `ensure ld_tablet` to your `server.cfg`, after your framework and `ox_lib`.

## Review the configuration

Open `config/config.lua` and review it—see [Configuration](/races/configuration.md).

## Start the resource

Restart/start the resource.

## Giving yourself the item

* As an admin, run `/giveTablet` (self) or `/giveTablet <playerId>` (someone else).
* If you're running in standalone mode (no framework inventory), players can also open the tablet directly with the configured keybind (default `F7`) or `/tablet`, without needing the item at all.
