# Configuration

Everything lives in `config/config.lua` (and translations in `config/locales/*.lua`) — both of these files stay fully readable after escrow, so you can edit them freely.

| Setting                                                  | Purpose                                                                                                               |
| -------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `Config.Enabled`                                         | Master on/off switch                                                                                                  |
| `Config.Debug`                                           | Extra logging                                                                                                         |
| `Config.Locale`                                          | Which file in `config/locales/` to use (`en`, `pt`, ...)                                                              |
| `Config.Framework.type`                                  | Force `'qbcore'` \| `'qbx'` \| `'esx'` \| `'standalone'`, or leave `nil` to auto-detect                               |
| `Config.Identity.provider`                               | `'framework'` (default) or `'custom'` for a bespoke player-group lookup                                               |
| `Config.Notifications.system`                            | `'ox'` (ox\_lib notifications) or your framework's native ones                                                        |
| `Config.Item.name` / `Config.Item.label`                 | Must match the item you registered with your inventory in [Installation](/tablet/installation.md)                     |
| `Config.Admin.permission` / `Config.Admin.allowedGroups` | Who can run `/giveTablet`                                                                                             |
| `Config.Admin.commands` / `Config.Admin.giveCommand`     | Toggle and rename the admin give-command                                                                              |
| `Config.Standalone` | Command/keybind fallback that opens the tablet directly, bypassing the item — always on when no framework is detected |
| `Config.UI.title` / `Config.UI.subtitle`                 | Text shown on the tablet's lock/home screen                                                                           |
| `Config.UI.closeOnLaunch` | Whether launching an app closes the tablet screen immediately (leave `true` unless you know you need otherwise) |

## Translations

Add or edit a language by copying `config/locales/en.lua` to a new file (e.g. `config/locales/es.lua`) and setting `Config.Locale = 'es'`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.lostdev.store/tablet/configuration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
